Pour with Purpose: How to Serve Alcohol Safely at Your Raylene Reserve Wedding

Serving alcohol at your wedding adds a celebratory element to the evening—from champagne toasts and signature cocktails to relaxed beer and wine bars. At Raylene Reserve, we welcome alcohol service at weddings and events, and we also offer couples the option to Bring Your Own Beverage (BOYB)—a unique and cost-saving choice that gives you flexibility, with a few important safety standards in place.

Whether you're hiring a licensed bartender or planning a self-serve beer and wine setup, we want you and your guests to celebrate safely, confidently, and joyfully.

Two Options for Alcohol Service

At Raylene Reserve, you can choose the option that fits your celebration best:

🍷 1. Licensed Bartender Service (Required for Liquor)

  • If you’re serving liquor, it must be poured by a licensed and insured bartender.

  • This ensures compliance with Florida law and gives you peace of mind.

  • You’ll need to provide proof of your bartender’s license and insurance before the event.

🍺 2. BOYB: Bring Your Own Beer & Wine (Self-Serve Option)

We allow self-serve alcohol with conditions for safety and liability:

  • Only beer and wine may be self-served.

  • Liquor is not allowed unless served by a licensed bartender.

  • The client is fully responsible for the service and consumption of alcohol.

  • You must take all reasonable steps to prevent underage drinking and overconsumption.

  • Clients are required to obtain event liability insurance that includes host liquor liability, listing Raylene Reserve as an additional insured.

  • If unsafe alcohol service or underage consumption is observed, the event may be terminated at the venue’s discretion.

💬 “We love that couples can bring in their favorite local wines or craft beers—but safety always comes first.”
Charlene, Venue Owner, Raylene Reserve

Making BOYB Work Smoothly

BOYB is a great option for couples who want to personalize their celebration and stay on budget. Want to feature local brews or bring a selection of your favorites from home? Go for it! Just make sure you have a designated person (not the bride or groom!) helping monitor the station, keeping things tidy, and making sure everyone is of legal drinking age.

Creative Ideas:

  • Set up a DIY wine bar with personalized signs and tasting notes

  • Create a “Beer Garden” lounge with local craft brews and cozy lighting

  • Offer a non-alcoholic hydration station nearby for balance

Liability Insurance: A Must-Have

To serve alcohol at Raylene Reserve under any format, you must provide proof of event liability insurance that includes host liquor liability coverage. This protects you, your guests, and our property. It’s a simple and affordable policy that most wedding insurance providers offer as an add-on.

Celebrate Responsibly—Celebrate Confidently

Our alcohol policy is designed to give you options while also prioritizing safety. Whether you’re hosting a classy cocktail hour or keeping it low-key with beer and wine, planning ahead is key to ensuring your celebration is both fun and worry-free.

If you have questions about what’s allowed, need help finding an insured bartender, or want tips for designing a beautiful beverage station, we’re always happy to help. At Raylene Reserve, we believe you can pour with purpose—and celebrate with confidence.
